Preliminary exercise

Produce the front page new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid out text and a masthead additionally candidates must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents to demonstrate their grasp of the program. 

Main Task 

Produce the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine.

Deadline

Preliminary task: Friday, 8th November

Rough draft of magazine: Friday, 24th January

Final draft: Friday, 28th February

Evaluation and blogs: Friday, 28th march

Preliminary task

In this task i learned how to edit photos within Photoshop, this is a new skill which i may need when i come to make my final magazine. The Photoshop software is a new tool to me and my final magazine will hopefully show progress on me learning the software.

For the contents page i learned how to change filters and make the colour scheme black and white, i chose todo this as it would show off my new skills that Ive learned.

Preliminary task (Draft)

This is my draft of the front cover of my preliminary task.
I chose this layout as it gives enough room for the picture to be viable and to see the group of sixth form students helping a lost sixth former.
The text boxes contain subheadings of topics within the magazine.
I will be using this layout for my final front cover for the school magazine.

The pictures above are the ones that i took for my preliminary magazine task. i used a vary of shots and locations within the school to give a good idea on what the new comers can expect, by looking at the photos that ive taken, it gives you a good representation on what to expect from the school and sixth form.
